The BBRC is partnered with #BhamStrong to administer a loan program for Birmingham small businesses affected by COVID-19. The goal of this assistance is to quickly stabilize businesses during the economic crisis. Checks for approved loans ranging from $10,000 – $25,000 will be disbursed as soon as April 6. Businesses meeting the qualifications below are eligible:

  • For-profit businesses with less than 50 employees
  • Based and located within the Birmingham city limits
  • In operation for at least one year
  • Have a City of Birmingham business license

Federal Relief for Small Businesses and Non-Profit Organizations

Small businesses in Alabama negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic are eligible for assistance under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Both businesses and non-profit organizations can qualify to receive loans to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid because of the economic impact of COVID-19.
