The Alabama Small Business Development Initiative (ASBDI), also known as the Small Business Development Initiative, is a 501c3 charitable organization formed in 2015 and headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
The ASBDI is connected to the Birmingham Business Resource Center (BBRC) and supported by many of Alabama’s leading corporations and foundations including Wells Fargo, The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Alabama Power Company, and others. The organization is managed by the BBRC team, led by Robert Dickerson, a longtime leader in small business development in the state. Coupled with BBRC’s rich history, the ASBDI extends its impact and influence, assisting small businesses with the various resources needed to promote growth and long-term sustainability.
ASBDI is the administrator of the Alabama Community Loan Fund which works in partnership with organizations across the state. With emphasis on small business development, the organization conducts various statewide seminars and workshops targeting entrepreneurs.
